- SAIC’s new quantum lineup covers sensing, optimization, optical interconnects and PQC migration
- The Information Security Corp. acquisition supports the company’s quantum-resistant encryption work
- SAIC’s efforts on emerging technology was also manifested in a recent AI partnership with Google Public Sector
SAIC has added a quantum technology portfolio to its offerings for federal civilian and defense agencies. According to a company announcement Wednesday, the new lineup spans quantum sensors, optical interconnects, quantum-inspired optimization algorithms and support for agencies moving to post-quantum cryptography.
What Capabilities Does SAIC’s Quantum Portfolio Offer?
The Reston, Virginia-based company said its encryption, timing, sensing and computing tools have moved from the lab into federal use after more than two years of development and testing. The portfolio also offers GPS-independent positioning, navigation and timing for military operators. SAIC said its quantum-inspired algorithms can resolve resource-allocation, supply chain and logistics problems in seconds, while its sensors target space domain awareness, border security, climate monitoring and battlefield threat classification.
How Does the ISC Acquisition Support Post-Quantum Cryptography?
The encryption offerings draw on SAIC’s acquisition of Information Security Corp., a developer of credential management, encryption and public key infrastructure software. SAIC said the deal and recent venture investments will help agencies update cryptographic systems and adopt quantum-resistant encryption aligned with the Commercial National Security Algorithm Suite 2.0 before federal modernization deadlines. Earlier in October, the Government Accountability Office found that none of 24 major agencies had fully completed preparations for that transition.
What Did SAIC’s Chief Scientist Say About Quantum Adoption?
Chris Powell, SAIC’s chief scientist, said agencies need transformative technologies now and that the company offers affordable, secure and practical quantum strategies. “We are removing the adoption risk for federal technology and mission leaders,” Powell added.
What Other Emerging Technology Work Has SAIC Pursued?
In May, SAIC partnered with Google Public Sector to field AI in enterprise and tactical settings using Google Distributed Cloud. Jay Meil, the company’s chief data scientist, leads work on adversarial machine learning, and SAIC has cited workforce readiness as a barrier to agency modernization.
Which Recent Contracts Has SAIC Won?
SAIC’s recent awards include a leading position on a potential $192 million Air Force Advanced Battle Management System digital infrastructure contract, a $50.6 million Navy torpedo defense task order and a $70 million radar task order from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division. In 2025, SAIC and Amazon Web Services also received a $4.8 million NOAA order to host the Traffic Coordination System for Space.
