Valid Evaluation has partnered with KLM Growth Strategies to expand the reach of its procurement evaluation technology in the federal civilian sector.

The Denver-based company said Wednesday that KLM Growth Strategies founder Kate Lynch Machado, who also serves on Valid Eval’s board of advisers, will leverage over 30 years of corporate development and government contracting experience to lead the partnership’s strategic efforts to expand adoption of the Valid Eval platform.

What Does Valid Eval Bring to the Partnership?

Valid Eval technology works to automate procurement tasks while providing visibility throughout the process. It has been used in acquisition and due diligence efforts at NASA, the Department of Transportation and defense innovation programs within the Department of War.

The company’s previous defense work includes a Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contract to provide software and evaluation services for selecting technologies developed by nontraditional defense contractors through research and development programs and competitions. The contract supported the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, Army Futures Command and the Army Research Laboratory.

Valid Eval also received a 2022 task order to assist the Air Force Research Laboratory in selecting sources for directed energy systems. The company implemented large-scale evaluation services to support traditional source selection technical evaluators within AFRL’s Directed Energy Technology Experimentation Research program in New Mexico.

Dennis Rohler, vice president of business development at Valid Evaluation, said the technology has supported hundreds of thousands of down-select decisions in the War Department’s innovation ecosystem. He said the partnership will help extend the company’s procurement evaluation capabilities to civilian government programs and that Machado’s knowledge of the acquisition ecosystem will be instrumental to the company’s goal of transforming federal procurement and innovation investment.

How Could Automation Support Civilian Procurement?

Machado said trusted automation could help government organizations address procurement and compliance requirements. She added that modernizing procurement workflows can allow government leaders to focus on mission priorities rather than administrative bottlenecks.

Rohler, who joined the company in June, said in an ExecutiveBiz Spotlight interview that the Valid Eval software has supported billions of dollars in federal awards with zero sustained protests.
