Dan Goodwin, a technology executive, has joined OMNI as vice president of emerging mission technologies.
What Are Goodwin’s Responsibilities at OMNI?
In a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment, OMNI said Tuesday Goodwin will apply his technical and leadership background to help the software developer identify, develop and advance emerging technologies aimed at addressing complex mission challenges and improving operational outcomes for the company’s customers.
Who Is Dan Goodwin?
Goodwin is a technology executive, program manager and digital engineer with a background spanning cybersecurity, software and systems engineering, field-programmable gate arrays, microelectronics, hardware, telecommunications, and networking.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he most recently served as CEO and a board member of GrammaTech before joining OMNI. He previously held roles at PLEX Solutions, Northrop Grumman, SAIC and Booz Allen Hamilton, working across cybersecurity, software engineering, hardware development and program management for defense and intelligence community customers.
The University of Maryland graduate holds master’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering and computer science from Johns Hopkins University. Goodwin is also a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute.
How Does the Appointment Align With OMNI’s Recent Growth Push?
Goodwin’s appointment comes as OMNI has made a series of leadership additions and platform updates in recent months.
The company brought on Tim Coffin as VP of strategic growth for space, a role focused on expanding OMNI’s space portfolio and supporting government customers on national security missions, and tapped Eric Grein as VP of corporate development and strategy, where he leads efforts to scale OMNI’s capabilities and integrate advanced technologies, including modern software and data platforms. OMNI also appointed Steve Hamric as chief financial officer to support the company’s growth strategy.
Alongside these leadership additions, OMNI added native learning and student management tools to its Digital University platform, expanding administrators’ ability to manage classes, enrollments, scheduling and reporting.
