Chenega Security California Corp., or CSCC, a subsidiary of Alaska native organization Chenega Corp., has secured a $22 million contract to continue providing protective force services at the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, managed by the University of California.

What Does the Contract Cover?

Under the award, the company will deliver protection services, including operating the security operations center, managing badging services and access control systems, and conducting patrol activities around the site, CSCC said Friday in an email to ExecutiveBiz. Work will commence at the facility in July 2026 and will run through July 2031.

“CSCC is very proud to have been selected, again, by Berkeley Lab, to support the mission of its Security and Emergency Services Division and the entire Lab community,” said David Pine, president of CSCC.

The award builds on CSCC’s provision of protective force services at the laboratory under a potential five-year, $16 million contract awarded in 2021.

Chenega’s Track Record in Protection Services

Chenega has been providing protective security officer services to the defense and federal sectors for several years. Earlier in March, Chenega Naswik International secured a five-year, $78.6 million task order from the Department of Homeland Security to deliver the services at multiple Internal Revenue Service locations. It also booked an $82.5 million U.S. Navy contract supporting military installations; a $10.5 million contract from the U.S. Army Materiel Command; and a five-year, $6 million contract supporting Special Operations Command South.

In 2024, Chenega Base & Logistics Services received a five-year $110 million hybrid contract from the Army for base operations support services, while the Chenega Services and Federal Solutions subsidiary secured a potential $200 million contract from the Department of the Interior in April 2023 for business support services.
