  • IDC ranked Tricentis first among the top 20 automated software quality vendors for the calendar year 2025
  • The company captured 6.9 percent of the worldwide ASQ market revenue
  • The ASQ market reached $6.3 billion in 2025 on 12 percent growth

Tricentis has moved into the top revenue position in the worldwide automated software quality market, according to IDC research covering calendar year 2025. In a July 24 announcement, the company said it holds 6.9 percent of the worldwide ASQ market revenue, ranking first among the 20 largest vendors.

Ben Baldi, senior vice president of global public sector at Tricentis, tied the finding to the way agencies build software.

“This recognition signals what our public sector customers already know: as AI accelerates how government software is built, agencies can’t afford to slow down on how it’s tested,” Baldi said. “IDC calls software quality and testing one of the most mature areas for both leveraging and enabling AI adoption — a market that grew 12% to $6.3 billion in 2025 — underscoring how central testing has become to trusted AI. Federal, state, local, and defense organizations are adopting AI faster than ever, but that adoption only pays off when every release can be trusted. Automated, AI-driven testing is how agencies move at mission speed while holding the line on quality, security, and compliance.”

What Does the ASQ Market Cover?

IDC treats automated software quality as the tooling organizations use to test and validate software through its development lifecycle, which includes test automation, quality management, performance testing, code analysis and emerging AI assurance capability.

What Did IDC Credit for the Ranking?

The research pointed to a platform that Tricentis released in March. AI Workspace anchors the company’s agentic quality engineering product and coordinates a set of AI agents handling test creation, test automation and performance testing.

The ranking was announced after Tricentis reported roughly $500 million in annual recurring revenue, up 19 percent.

What Has Tricentis Found About Testing Practices?

The company’s 2026 Quality Transformation Report, released in June, surveyed more than 2,500 executives and engineers. Six in 10 organizations said they push untested code into production, a figure that held steady from the prior year.

Respondents attributed that to pressure from leadership to favor speed and to volumes of AI-generated code that their teams cannot fully test. One in five organizations puts annual losses from poor software quality above $1 million.
