research-and-development-RDORAU has started to accept applications from graduate and undergraduate students for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory’s 2017 Summer Repperger Research Internship Program.

The 10-week program will provide mentorship on AFRL projects to science, technology, engineering and math students and applicants can apply for appointments in Dayton, Ohio, or San Antonio, Texas, ORAU said Friday.

U.S. students in their junior year of undergraduate studies or above with a minimal 3.0 GPA in a STEM discipline are qualified for the program and will receive stipend for their participation.

Submissions will close on Dec. 31 and the internship program will run from June 5 to Aug. 11, 2017.

The Repperger Research Internship Program, created in honor of the late AFRL scientist Daniel Repperger, aims to assist Air Force airmen in the performance of their duties and to help advance the field of human-centered research.

ORAU, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, provides scientific and technical services for science, education, security and health priorities as well as manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the Energy Department.
