Mark Garfiled Joins Symantec as Chief Accounting Officer

Mark Garfiled, formerly senior vice president of finance and chief accounting officer at Brightstar, has joined Symantec to serve as CAO at the security software maker.

The appointment took effect Monday and he will report to Symantec Chief Financial Officer Thomas Seifert, the company announced Monday.

During his time at Brightstar, Garfield implemented SOX level internal controls such as an enterprise-wide resource planning software and global shared services.

His career also includes roles at Ernst & Young, Advanced Micro Devices and LoudCloud.
