MANTECH has hired Christopher Missmer as vice president of strategy and business integration for its defense and space sector, the company said in a LinkedIn post.

What Will Christopher Missmer Do at MANTECH?

In his own LinkedIn announcement, Missmer said he will work to advance strategic growth within the sector and support the national security missions it serves. He said the company’s focus on supplying defense and security clients with mission-critical capabilities was a factor in his decision to join.

Who Is Christopher Missmer?

Missmer joins MANTECH from Intel, where he held government-focused roles for more than four years. Most recently, he was head of enterprise strategy and partnerships for Intel Government Technologies. He moved into that post in May after nearly two years as the unit’s chief operations officer. Earlier, he led strategic growth for Intel Federal and was chief of staff for the chipmaker’s global government sales organization.

Before Intel, Missmer was a business development executive for strategic growth and mission programs at Dell Federal from 2019 to 2022. He previously spent 13 years at General Dynamics Information Technology. His roles there included vice president and general manager for combatant commands, vice president and deputy general manager for defense and military intelligence, and senior director and general manager for European defense programs. He started at GDIT as a security engineer and systems architect.

Missmer served in the U.S. Army from 1994 to 2006 in airborne infantry and communications roles.

How Does the Appointment Fit Into MANTECH’s Defense and Space Strategy?

The hire follows MANTECH’s August appointment of Scott Keenan as vice president of growth for the defense and space sector, where he oversees business development, capture and proposal work. The company has made several other leadership moves in 2026. It named Eric Brown chief product officer and Sarah Carter chief growth officer, and it promoted Kristen Summers to chief data and AI officer and Brandy Durham to chief technology officer.

MANTECH has highlighted AI as a growth area across its business. Gavin Greene, vice president of client solutions for the intelligence and homeland security sector, has named agentic AI and full-spectrum cyber as priorities. In defense, subsidiary Mantech Advanced Systems International won a spot in August on a $147.9 million Navy contract for aircraft carrier readiness support. Late last year, MANTECH and Lockheed Martin teamed to integrate AI-based sustainment platforms into the U.S. combat aircraft fleet.
