Day & Zimmermann has appointed Jason Dunaway as president of the maintenance and construction division, effective Jan. 19. Dunaway will succeed John McCormick, who has served as division president for five years, D&Z said Wednesday. McCormick will retire after over eight years at D&Z on Jan. 16.

Who Is Jason Dunaway?

Dunaway currently serves as executive vice president of operations for the maintenance and construction division, a role he has held since 2024. He joined the company in 2017 as vice president of fossil projects and construction.

The executive also previously shared his expertise in project implementation as a member of the White House’s Nuclear Power Project Management and Delivery Working Group during the administration of President Joe Biden.

What Are Dunaway’s New Responsibilities?

In his new role, Dunaway will lead the division’s transformation from a maintenance services provider into an engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

“We’re well positioned for continued growth, and I’m committed to lead our next phase with safe and disciplined execution, empowered teams, and an unwavering customer focus,” Dunaway stated.

What Services Does Day & Zimmermann Offer?

D&Z’s maintenance and construction division delivers maintenance, construction, engineering and technical support for the power and industrial markets.

In 2024, the division secured a $985 million contract from the Tennessee Valley Authority to provide maintenance and modification services to its hydroelectric dams, gas, coal and pumped-storage hydroelectricity facilities.

Work on the five-year contract includes asbestos abatement, lead abatement, scaffolding, insulation and coating.
