  • The contract is worth $12 million
  • Work under the contract will be carried out with the help of the 1Exiger, an artificial intelligence-powered supplier risk tool
  • The original 1Exiger was launched in 2023 and its AI-native upgrade was launched this September

Exiger has received a $12 million contract to analyze supply chain and defense industrial base risk for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Systems Directorate.

Exiger said Wednesday that the analysis is meant to help the directorate spot risks across the ICBM enterprise, including parts nearing obsolescence, single-source suppliers, counterfeit components and items affected by Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages, along with vendor viability, supplier readiness and workforce concerns.

The company will also provide predictive analytics to forecast part obsolescence, track vendor behavior and project inventory action timelines, informing risk mitigation planning.

Artificial intelligence trustworthiness and supply chain visibility and reliability will be part of the agenda during the Potomac Officers Club’s 2027 Defense R&D Summit, which is set to take place on Feb. 4. Sign up now to attend the event, which is being sponsored by Exiger.

The work will draw on the artificial intelligence-powered 1Exiger platform, which, according to the company, digs deeper than conventional supplier risk tools by tracing exposure through individual parts, materials and sub-tier dependencies.

“Exiger’s differentiated strength is our ability to connect supplier risk to the parts, materials, facilities, and industrial base dependencies that actually drive mission readiness and program performance,” Exiger Vice President of Nuclear and Technology Security Programs Scott LaFoy said, adding, “This award reflects the growing need for parts-level intelligence, continuous monitoring, and active risk mitigation across the most sensitive and highly targeted portions of the defense industrial base.”

What Is the 1Exiger Platform?

1Exiger was first launched in September 2023 to bring the company’s AI tools together in one platform, including DDIQ, Insight 3PM, Ion Channel, SDX and Supply Chain Explorer, along with its supply chain data and mapping capabilities.

In March, Exiger listed 1Exiger on AWS Marketplace, so government and commercial organizations can find, test, buy and deploy the platform directly, skipping a lengthy procurement process. The company called the listing a step toward growing its commercial and international business from its federal base.

In September, Exiger introduced 1Exiger.AI, an AI-native upgrade that uses AI agents drawing on about 3 trillion data points to track suppliers, parts, regulatory obligations and customer relationships.

What Other ICBM Contracts Has the Air Force Awarded in 2026?

The Exiger award follows a similar one to Govini, now known as Air. In June, the Arlington, Virginia-based company won a $31 million firm-fixed-price contract to give the ICBM enterprise a software-as-a-service view of its industrial base and supply chains, so it can spot current and future gaps and assess risks. Work will be carried out at Hill Air Force Base in Utah and will run through June 2029. The work covers continued Minuteman III obsolescence management as well as support for Sentinel procurement.

In July, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory received a sole-source, $199.3 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research and development engineering services on the Sentinel program. Work will take place at several U.S. locations through July 23, 2029.

At the end of August, Northrop Grumman received an $86.1 million sole-source task order that covers program management, maintenance, sustaining engineering and support services at Hill, F.E. Warren, Malmstrom and Minot Air Force Bases through September 2031. The order falls under Northrop’s Minuteman III ground subsystems support contract, a potential $3.86 billion award from 2021.

In October, AFNWC awarded Accenture Federal Services a $151.5 million task order for FENCES digital engineering services in the ICBM portfolio. The sole-source, firm-fixed-price order went through GSA’s Alliant 2 governmentwide contract, carries a $228 million ceiling and runs at Hill through June 2030. The Arlington, Virginia-based company will engineer, develop, secure and operate tailored FENCES. The work supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent effort and builds on a FENCES digital engineering contract first awarded to Novetta in October 2021. Novetta was acquired by Accenture Federal in August that year.
