In a preview of his interview on Fed Gov Today, he highlighted the role of accessible, structured data in enabling AI systems to generate insights that help healthcare professionals improve treatment plans and personalize care.

How AI Can Help Clinicians Focus on Patients?

Boltz stressed the need to remove technology as a barrier between clinicians and patients.

He discussed how ambient clinical documentation, powered by AI, is transforming the way clinicians interact with patients.

According to Boltz, these new tools passively capture conversations between healthcare professionals and patients. AI then translates those interactions into structured EHR entries, enabling providers to focus on listening, diagnosing and treating patients. He noted that such technologies could play a role in improving life expectancy and health equity.

How Healthcare Organizations Can Protect Patient Data While Using AI?

In the interview set to premiere on Jan. 8, Boltz said cybersecurity and privacy are essential as healthcare organizations use more AI.

He emphasized the need for zero trust architectures, clear governance and strong access controls. Patient data must remain secure while being accessible to authorized clinicians. He warned that weak practices or poor governance can open the door to hackers and ransomware attacks.

What Best Practices Does Tim Boltz Suggest for AI in Healthcare?

In his previous blog posts, the Carahsoft executive explored the role of AI in healthcare, emphasizing how AI tools can help healthcare systems optimize daily operations and allow staff to experiment with and learn the technology.

Boltz emphasized that best practices should encompass understanding AI risks, ensuring the validity of patient data and addressing potential biases. He recommended that technology suppliers and public officials adopt risk management strategies, sound governance and transparency when deploying AI.

In his latest post, he expanded on how healthcare organizations are transforming care delivery through strategic technology deployments supported by streamlined procurement processes.
