Spectro Cloud has earned Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program Class C, or Moderate, certification for Palette VerteX, its platform for managing government infrastructure.

The San Jose, California-based company, which closed a $100 million Series D round led by Goldman Sachs in July, said Thursday the certification comes months after VerteX secured GovRAMP authorization.

What Does Palette VerteX Do?

Palette VerteX works to manage a customer’s full infrastructure stack. The offering features reusable cluster profiles, support for virtual machines alongside containers and Kubernetes infrastructure powered by GPUs.

The certification covers the software-as-a-service version, though VerteX can also run in self-hosted or air-gapped environments.

Matt Heideman, who joined Spectro Cloud as vice president of public sector in December, said the company designed the platform for missions that span multiple environments.

“Agencies need to keep critical VM applications running while bringing containers and AI into production. They need infrastructure that can follow the mission into a data center or out to the tactical edge,” Heideman said, adding, “This FedRAMP milestone gives federal buyers stronger assurance in the platform behind it.”

Which Other Security Credentials Does Spectro Cloud Hold?

The FedRAMP certification joins Spectro Cloud’s ISO 27001:2022 certification, TX-RAMP authorization, SOC 2 Type II attestation and UK Cyber Essentials Plus certification. VerteX also relies on a company cryptographic library validated under Federal Information Processing Standard 140-3.

“Earning FedRAMP Class C has been years in the making, and is the most important milestone yet in our ongoing security and compliance journey,” said Joi Frederick, Spectro Cloud’s senior manager of security, privacy and compliance.

Where Is VerteX Deployed Across the Government?

Since its 2023 launch, VerteX has been put to use in the Army, Navy and Air Force. It is also in use with defense contractors, the intelligence community, sovereign clouds and regulated industries.

Spectro Cloud holds the AWS Government Software Competency and “Awardable” status on the Platform One and Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office Tradewinds Solutions Marketplaces. Agencies can buy VerteX through those marketplaces, the AWS Marketplace or the company’s channel partners.
