Valkyrie Enterprises has promoted Danielle Thomasson to vice president of business development and capture.

What Will Danielle Thomasson Oversee at Valkyrie?

In a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, Valkyrie said Thomasson will oversee and integrate business development and capture activities within the company’s mission support unit and lifecycle support and solutions business area.

The newly created leadership role aligns with Valkyrie’s broader push to accelerate proposal and marketing operations to support the company’s growth.

Matt Matthews, vice president of enterprise operations, said Thomasson demonstrated strong leadership while serving in the interim role and is positioned to help drive the company’s growth.

“As Valkyrie pivots to a greater focus on larger integrated solutions and products, Danielle can drive this transformation and ensure the entire enterprise is executing with excellence to solve some of our nation’s largest challenges,” Matthews said.

Thomasson joined Valkyrie in October 2025 as director of business development for the lifecycle support and solutions business area. Before joining Valkyrie, she served as executive director for capture at MANTECH.

Her prior experience also includes leadership roles at Sellers & Associates, Gryphon Technologies, HII and the U.S. Navy, where she served as a surface warfare officer.

How Does the Promotion Fit Into Valkyrie’s Expansion Strategy?

The move comes as Valkyrie continues building out its executive leadership team under CEO Josh Jackson, a two-time Wash100 Award winner who joined the company earlier this year.

In recent months, Valkyrie appointed Matthews as vice president of enterprise operations and named Joyner Livingston senior vice president of mission solutions to lead operations, growth strategy and program delivery for its technical services portfolio.

The Virginia Beach-based company provides mission-focused technology and services to government and commercial customers in various areas, including systems engineering, missile defense, maritime modernization, modeling and simulation, prototyping, and lifecycle support.

Valkyrie has expanded its capabilities through acquisitions, including the 2025 purchase of Optical Sciences Corp. to enhance missile defense and space sensor testing capabilities.
