Empower AI has secured a $20 million contract from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or CMS, to provide professional services for the Office of Hearings and Inquiries, or OHI.
What Does the CMS Contract Cover?
The Reston, Virginia-based IT company said Monday it will deliver services to support OHI in handling Risk Adjustment Data Validation, or RADV, appeals and overseeing Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board applications and cases. The work includes intake services, preliminary case reviews, coordination of hearing logistics, administrative and technical analysis to support adjudication, and disposition support for RADV appeals managed by the office. The contract includes a one-year base period and four option years.
“We are excited to continue supporting CMS in performing certain administrative and analytical functions related to payment review processes. The Risk Adjustment Data Validation Program is an established CMS program, and we are proud to provide support services under the terms of the contract,” said Katie Sutton, vice president of federal civilian at Empower AI.
What Other Contracts Has Empower AI Secured?
Empower AI’s CMS award adds to the company’s growing list of federal contract wins. In 2025, it secured a $200 million contract to support the Army Metering Program across more than 80 installations and received a task order to continue providing cybersecurity lifecycle management and engineering support to the Army Information Systems Engineering Command’s Mission Engineering Directorate. The company was also selected for the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus, or OASIS+, contract vehicle, allowing it to compete for federal technical and engineering services task orders.
