What Is SpyCloud Supply Chain Threat Protection?

The company said Wednesday its SpyCloud Supply Chain Threat Protection works by continuously collecting real-time identity threat data from its repository of recaptured malware, breach, phishing and combolist records gathered from criminal underground sources, providing security teams with evidence of compromise affecting third-party vendors and partners.

The platform could help organizations prioritize third-party vendors that pose the most significant risks by aggregating and quantifying identity exposures into an Identity Threat Index that reflects the severity of compromises across an organization’s supply chain.

The SpyCloud tool is designed to facilitate the sharing of actionable evidence and reports with vendors and support deeper investigation by identifying internal and third-party applications that may be exposed on malware-infected devices at partner organizations.

“Third-party threats have evolved far beyond what traditional vendor assessment tools can detect. Public and private sector organizations need to know when their vendors’ employees are actively compromised by malware or phishes, when authentication data is circulating on the dark web, and which partners pose the greatest real downstream threat to their business,” said Damon Fleury, chief product officer at SpyCloud.

“Our new solution delivers those signals by transforming raw underground data into clear, prioritized actions that security teams use to protect their organization,” Fleury added.

What Does SpyCloud Do?

SpyCloud offers automated identity threat protection tools that leverage artificial intelligence, analytics and recaptured darknet data to help organizations detect insider threats, prevent ransomware and account takeover, expedite cybercrime investigations and protect employee and consumer identities.

The Austin, Texas-based company employs over 200 cybersecurity professionals that support hundreds of government agencies, enterprises and mid-sized companies worldwide.
