COMSAT has agreed to distribute Orbit Communications Systems' airborne and maritime satellite connectivity terminals to the global public sector market.

The agreement covers distribution of Multi-Purpose Terminals and OceanTRx hardware offerings designed to support government communications from multiple aircraft and vessel types, the two companies said Wednesday in a joint statement.

Orbit's airborne MPTs have a lightweight design, feature three line replaceable units and offer radio frequency and tracking performance for missions in harsh environments.

OceanTRx is a multiband terminal built to help maritime users transmit data via satellite networks.
