SNC has secured an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Missile Defense Agency under the Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense, or SHIELD, vehicle, which is valued at up to $151 billion.
The company said that it will provide MDA with technologies to protect the homeland.

What Is the SHIELD Contract Vehicle?
SHIELD is one of the contracting vehicles introduced to support the establishment of President Donald Trump’s Golden Dome of America.
The multiple-award contract aims to develop a system capable of detecting, tracking, intercepting and neutralizing airborne threats, including ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missile threats.
According to the official request for proposals posted in September, work under SHIELD will include research and development, systems engineering, weapons design, data mining, prototyping, experimentation, modernization, cybersecurity, and modeling, simulation and analysis. Selected contractors will also utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning, open systems architectures, model-based systems engineering, digital engineering and other technologies and techniques wherever applicable.
Its anticipated period of performance is 10 years, including options.
SNC is one of the over 2,000 companies that won spots in the contract vehicle. Other awardees include Lockheed Martin, CGI Federal, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Leidos, HII Mission Technologies, General Dynamics Information Technology and Maxar Intelligence.
