SNC has completed the second phase of its Aviation Innovation and Technology Center master plan in Dayton, Ohio, adding two new maintenance, repair and overhaul hangars to support advanced airborne systems development.

The expansion increases the facility’s footprint to approximately 440,000 square feet and enhances its ability to perform development, testing and sustainment activities for large-scale aircraft programs and support complex system integration efforts for national security missions, SNC said Wednesday.

What Does the AITC Expansion Include?

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the third and fourth MRO hangars at AITC, located at Dayton International Airport. With the latest additions, the site is positioned to accelerate project delivery and ensure secure communications are fully integrated across upcoming platforms.

JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef expects the SNC project to generate hundreds of new jobs and strengthen Ohio’s role in fortifying national defense.

How Does AITC Support SNC’s Defense Programs?

The facility plays a central role in SNC’s work on the U.S. Air Force’s Survivable Airborne Operations Center program, which is intended to replace the E-4B “Nightwatch” aircraft.

“Today’s achievement is a direct result of our team’s relentless commitment to the mission and to excellence,” said SNC CEO Fatih Ozmen.

“The AITC represents SNC’s promise to invest early, anticipate future needs and deliver next-generation capabilities that keep our nation and its warfighters one step ahead,” the company’s co-owner added.

Why Is Dayton Important to SNC’s Business Strategy?

SNC’s investment builds on the region’s existing ecosystem, including proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and access to a skilled workforce.

“Ohio has worked hard to make sure sites, infrastructure and talent are ready, so when a company is looking to move quickly, Ohio is ready to move with it,” Nauseef said.
