Protora, which rebranded from C Speed in September, has introduced ShadowSight, a radar support program intended to extend the service life of deployed equipment and help customers maintain operational readiness.

Which Radar Systems Can Use ShadowSight?

The NewSpring Holdings Federal-backed company said Thursday the program supports Protora equipment and radar systems made by other manufacturers. Customers can add ShadowSight to existing radars or purchase support alongside new Protora systems.

Protora CEO Dave Abel, who joined the company in May, said the program is designed to keep aging radar equipment mission-capable for another 20 years, regardless of its original manufacturer.

What Support Services Does the Program Include?

ShadowSight works to combine equipment modernization with logistics, maintenance and workforce training. Its supply chain services forecast spare parts and inventory requirements ahead of demand, while field service representatives provide on-site assistance.

The program also uses BigBear.ai’s ConductorOS for remote condition monitoring. The artificial intelligence-enabled system processes equipment health and usage data to help identify degradation and support condition-based maintenance before failures cause downtime.

Protora’s use of ConductorOS builds on its existing relationship with BigBear.ai. In December 2025, the companies announced a partnership to integrate the AI orchestration platform with C Speed’s LightWave Radar system for threat detection and response applications.

Training includes hands-on courses and simulator-based instruction for radar operators and maintainers at customer locations. Modernization work addresses changes in sensors, processors and mission requirements to keep fielded systems current.

Cindy Boyd, Protora’s vice president of ShadowSight, said the program’s integrated product support services are designed to keep radars mission-capable when customers need them most, noting that domain awareness hinges on operational availability.
