MyDefence will open a new facility in Reston, Virginia, on Thursday, Oct. 15, expanding its U.S. presence. The company said it will mark the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a live counter-drone technology demonstration.
The facility will join MyDefence’s existing U.S. operations in Oklahoma City and Clearwater, Florida. U.S. defense and government officials and representatives of the Royal Danish Embassy are expected to attend the event.
Why Is MyDefence Opening a Reston Facility?
According to MyDefence, the Reston facility strengthens its presence near partners and decision-makers and gives the company a stronger base for collaboration, support and future growth.
The expansion also reflects the company’s commitment to building and growing in the U.S., developing technology aligned with U.S. operational needs, and delivering solutions designed, supported and produced for U.S. missions.
What Will the Counter-Drone Demonstration Showcase?
The live demonstration will feature Wingman Edge, the company’s newly launched wearable drone detection platform. It will also feature other counter-drone solutions that provide real-time detection and jamming for military, law enforcement and security teams.
Who Will Speak at the MyDefence Grand Opening?
William Ostrowski, president and CEO of MyDefence North America, will deliver opening remarks.
John Murray, a retired U.S. Army general and a two-time Wash100 awardee, will deliver the keynote address. Murray is the former commanding general of Army Futures Command.
Dan Hermansen, CEO of MyDefence Group, will also take part in the event.
