What Is the Scope of the MTSI Contract?
The Department of War said Tuesday the award is a Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contract supporting capability and operational discovery. It is structured as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle and is expected to run through March 30, 2032.
MTSI will perform the work in Dayton, Ohio, and Alexandria, Virginia. At the time of award, the Air Force obligated $400,036 in fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds. AFRL at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
What Other Air Force Work Has MTSI Secured?
The award adds to MTSI’s recent Air Force contract activity. In July 2026, the company secured a $371 million Air Force contract to provide systems engineering and technical assistance to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office. The time-and-materials award covers contracting and functional support across the office’s acquisition lifecycle and is expected to run through Aug. 23, 2031.
In December 2025, MTSI received a potential $416 million SBIR Phase III IDIQ contract to support technology integration for Air Force Global Strike Command and other Department of War mission partners. The award included a $37 million task order for AFGSC technology integration.
In January 2025, MTSI also received a five-year SBIR Phase III basic ordering agreement from Naval Air Systems Command to provide mission planning and IT support for Program Manager Strike Planning and Execution Systems, or PMA-281. The initial work included support for conventional prompt strike operations and digital transformation services.
