awardLockheed Martin and IERUS Technologies have received the Defense Department’s Nunn-Perry Award for their performance as a mentor-protege team.

The DoD handed the award to Lockheed Martin’s Donna Longmire and IERUS Technologies’ Jason Keen at a ceremony in Virginia, Lockheed Martin said Friday.

“Through the DoD mentor-protege program, we are able to help a small business expand, and that, in turn, strengthens our supplier base,” said Longmire, a program manager for Lockheed Martin space systems.

Lockheed Martin began mentoring Huntsville, Alabama-based IERUS, a certified historically underutilized business zone company, in 2012.

IERUS Technologies provides systems engineering and program management support, and electromagnetic spectrum and software acceleration technologies.
