Leidos has announced plans to employ 3,000 veterans and spouses of service personnel in the next five years as part of its continuous support to a White House program.

Leidos said Thursday First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, introduced the Joining Forces initiative in an effort to support service personnel, veterans and their families through employment, education and wellness programs in partnership with private and public sectors.

“Veterans offer an immense value to our workforce, and embody the characteristics we look for in employees – integrity, ethics, perseverance, honor and commitment,” said Sarah Allen, chief human resources officer at Leidos.

The company works to support retired servicemembers and their families through its Operation MVP program that aims to recruit and train veterans.
