What Is MDA’s SHIELD Contract?
The SHIELD indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract enables rapid development and deployment across a wide range of work areas to accelerate the delivery of capabilities to the warfighter. The SHIELD program supports the Pentagon’s Golden Dome multi-layer homeland missile defense initiative by creating a large competitive pool of companies eligible for future task orders.
Who Are the Initial Awardees of the MDA’s SHEILD Contract?
MDA awarded over 2,000 spots on the SHIELD contract in December 2025. The agency selected 1,014 companies for the first tranche of awards, followed by the selection of 1,086 additional contractors for the second group of awardees.
Some of the selected contractors include Accenture Federal Services, Anduril, BAE Systems, Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI, General Dynamics Mission Systems, HII Mission Technologies, L3Harris, Leidos, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Sierra Nevada Corp. and Viasat. All awardees are eligible to compete for work under the SHIELD vehicle.
