Future Technologies Venture has appointed Kent Brown, a telecommunications and wireless connectivity executive with four decades of industry experience, as senior vice president of sales. Brown assumed the role Monday, the Suwanee, Georgia-based operational connectivity services company said.

What Will Kent Brown Do at Future Technologies?

In his post at the company, Brown aims to expand the firm’s client roster in line with its projected growth and help extend its operations throughout North America. The company is geared to support the Department of War and the intelligence community, with a focus on communications infrastructure.

Brown’s recruitment follows Future Tech’s hiring of Sarah Campbell, who joined full-time in May as chief operating officer. Campbell has said the company integrates technologies from multiple providers rather than relying on a single vendor to meet mission requirements.

What Was Kent Brown’s Role at Cambium Networks?

Brown joins from Cambium Networks, where he was tasked to build and expand the company’s strategic industrial unit in North America. Most recently, he managed relationships with major brand-name accounts in Cambium’s enterprise business.

His LinkedIn profile lists specialties in strategic account management, deal structuring and contract negotiations. He also holds a Green Belt in Digital Six Sigma.

What Other Industry Experience Does Kent Brown Hold?

Before Cambium, Brown was a director in the professional services unit of Motorola Solutions, where he oversaw large-scale deployments of IP soft-switching, headend, hybrid fiber-coaxial and fiber-to-the-home broadband networks.

He also held sales and national sales leadership posts across units covering cellular infrastructure, broadband, advanced messaging and government land mobile radio.

During his Motorola tenure, Brown was a consulting principal and director of international business development at a joint venture with Cisco Systems. The venture marketed distributed IP architectures that helped mobile operators deliver the applications now common on smartphones.
