ITphotoDataDirect Networks-built storage infrastructures work to power more than 60 percent of TOP500.org’s list of the world’s largest computing systems by performance.

The performance of computers listed in the top 10 increased by 14 times in less than five years and nine of those systems currently use DDN technology, the company said Monday.

“Commercial and research sites alike are under increased scrutiny to deliver the maximum computing benefits at the least cost,” said Laura Shepard, DDN director for high performance computing markets.

DDN’s clients include the Los Alamos National Laboratories, National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center and Oakridge National Laboratory.
