Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has announced the appointment of Steve Black, Mark Dale and Brent Norman to senior leadership positions at the company’s Satellite and Space Communications, or S&S, segment. Comtech said Wednesday that Black has been named chief operating officer, Mark Dale as chief technology officer and Brent Norman as chief financial officer.
New S&S C-Suite Leaders
A former General Dynamics executive, Black took on his new role in May and brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the company. As S&S COO, he will work to manage and enhance processes for product delivery.
Dale formerly served as Comtech senior technical fellow and previously handled key leadership roles at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Viasat and Broadcom. In June, he took on the position of S&S CTO, in which capacity he will lead the design and deployment of next-generation communication tools.
As CFO, Norman will manage all S&S financial reports, plans, budgets, investments and analysis to ensure regulatory compliance and value creation. He assumed his new role also in June and brings to it previous experience working for General Dynamics and L3Harris.

Ken Traub, Comtech chairman and CEO, conveyed delight in Black and Norman’s recruitment, as well as Dale’s promotion.
“Their combined expertise in operations, technology and finance will be instrumental in driving our strategic transformation, meeting our near-term objectives and positioning Comtech to achieve long-term growth,” the company’s head commented.
