Chronos Operations, a small business that provides IT services, will participate in the Department of Defense’s Robust Artificial Intelligence Test and Evaluation, or RAITE, 2025. The Alaska Native Corporation-owned firm will join other participating organizations to contribute to the development of a secure, open-source framework for evaluating the capability of large language models against cyber threats.

RAITE 2025 Details

RAITE 2025 is hosted by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. During the event, participants will be presented with various artificial intelligence models in different scenarios in the areas of unmanned systems collaboration, cyber-enabled AI networks, multimodal data and environment interactions.

The goal of the event is to improve AI safety, trustworthiness and operational readiness for future defense applications.

CO will explore the technology’s use for operations in areas with limited communications and autonomous environments. The company will support Purple Team scenarios and provide post-processing analytics across scenarios to identify technology gaps. CO will also participate in Blue Team scenario 4, wherein it will protect an LLM on an edge device.

“We are elated to be selected,” commented CO President Heather Lacroix. “We recognize that future U.S. naval operations will depend on a strong understanding of AI to ensure our sailors maintain a strategic edge over adversaries.”
