What Does the Carahsoft & Veritas Partnership Provide?
Carahsoft said Monday Veritas’ Fact of Death Mortality Index includes information on U.S. deaths that can be used for activities such as monitoring population health, checking pension records, identifying potential fraud and administering social programs. The mortality intelligence offering captures data on more than 90 percent of U.S. deaths within two weeks of an occurrence. The data is compiled and checked against thousands of public and private sources, providing the transparency and provenance needed to meet government standards.
What Did Company Leadership Say About the Partnership?
Tim Boltz, sales director at Carahsoft, said the offering addresses gaps in real-time mortality reporting and provides government agencies with reliable insights for faster, more informed decisions. He said the technology cuts the operational burden tied to manual verification and reconciliation, which helps agencies boost reporting accuracy, cut down on fraud and build efficiency.
Veritas Data Research CEO Jamie Blackport said the agreement will give more public-sector organizations access to mortality data that can inform public health efforts and help agencies maintain operational integrity.
Which Procurement Channels Can Agencies Use?
As Veritas’ master government aggregator, Carahsoft will leverage its reseller network and National Association of State Procurement Officials’ ValuePoint program, E&I Cooperative Services and The Quilt contract vehicles to distribute national mortality data.
The arrangement follows a similar Carahsoft partnership with Harmony Healthcare IT, under which the companies made healthcare data management offerings available to public-sector customers.
