Carahsoft Technology and FedHIVE have partnered to offer government agencies private cloud infrastructure with hardware covered by existing federal security authorizations. Carahsoft said Tuesday it will serve as FedHIVE’s hardware provider, adding more hardware manufacturers within its environment authorized through the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP.
What Capabilities Does FedHIVE’s Private Modern Cloud Provide?
FedHIVE’s Private Modern Cloud works to support workloads across on-premises systems, private infrastructure and cloud providers. The hybrid model is intended to allow agencies to choose where applications and data reside while retaining control over their IT environments.
The offering is designed to combine compute and storage capabilities covered by FedRAMP High and Department of War Security Requirements Guide Impact Levels 4 and 5 authorizations. The offering comes amid changes to FedRAMP’s cloud certification requirements, including the launch of FedRAMP 20x.
What Did Carahsoft & FedHIVE Executives Say?
Carahsoft President Craig Abod, a 12-time Wash100 Award winner, said the initiative gives public sector customers access to pre-authorized compute and storage infrastructure.
“Our Private Modern Cloud offering supports public sector customers as they modernize IT infrastructure with greater cost efficiency and streamlined deployment,” he said.
FedHIVE CEO Michael Cardaci said the partnership will extend the company’s security and compliance capabilities to government customers, giving agencies more options for deploying technology across on-premises, private cloud, hyperscaler and hybrid environments.
Cardaci said the partnership combines FedHIVE’s authorized infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service offerings with Carahsoft’s government technology distribution capabilities to give agencies more flexibility in adopting emerging technologies.
