Anthropic has hired Austin Adams as global head of public sector partner growth, bringing in the executive who oversaw strategic partnerships at Google Public Sector.
Adams announced the move in a LinkedIn post Tuesday, thanking Teresa Carlson, a six-time Wash100 Award winner who leads Anthropic’s global public sector business, and Thiyagu Ramasamy, who heads its U.S. public sector work.

What Experience Does Adams Bring to Anthropic?
Adams spent four years at the Google subsidiary, serving as head of partners from September 2025 and as director of strategic partnerships from July 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before joining Google, he held worldwide public sector partner roles at Amazon Web Services for nearly five years, covering partner development, distribution sales and reseller relationships.
He also became vice president of public sector at Alfresco and a senior account executive at Microsoft. Earlier, he was director of Department of War and strategic accounts at InfoReliance and an account manager serving DOW and intelligence community customers at MicroLink.
Adams holds a master’s degree in leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in political science from James Madison University.
How Is Anthropic Building Its Public Sector Team?
Adams joined a public sector leadership team that Anthropic has assembled in recent months. Carlson became global head of public sector in July after leading the General Catalyst Institute and spending more than a decade at AWS running its worldwide public sector business. Brian Mikkelsen joined as head of U.S. federal civilian go-to-market last week.
The hiring comes as Anthropic moves toward a public listing. The company filed a Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission, disclosing that government agency contracts account for roughly 1 percent of its revenue.
Its $1 per-user OneGov pricing with the General Services Administration expires Oct. 31. Anthropic made Claude for Government generally available this month through a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program High environment and has launched two partner-facing cyber programs, expanding its Cyber Verification Program and introducing the Critical Infrastructure Defense Program with 11 founding partners, including Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton and Deloitte.
