Helicopter-RadarAn Esterline subsidiary has received a contract to supply 50 flight management systems for installation on the U.S. Air Force‘s fleet of HH-60G Pave Hawk search-and-rescue helicopters.

Esterline said Tuesday its CMC Electronics business will perform non-recurring engineering to help the military branch re-host the current HH60G control display unit from the legacy CMA-882 system to the CMA-2082MC platform.

Work will occur at CMC’s facilities in Quebec and Ontario, Canada through 2018.

The contract was awarded by the Air Force through Canada’s government-to-government contracting and procurement agency Canadian Commercial Corp. and includes an option for CMC to deliver up to 225 additional CDUs.

CMA-2082MC is designed to centralize control for the navigational sensors, communications radios, displays, mission avionics and aircraft systems.

The flight management system is currently installed on the U.S. Army‘s UH-60M, HH-60M and S-70i aircraft.

Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky unit produces HH-60G helicopters to support military personnel recovery, civil search-and-rescue, medical evacuation, disaster response, humanitarian assistance, security cooperation/aviation advisory and spaceflight support missions.
