Northrop Grumman has ordered $86.1 million in outer wing panel kits from CPI Aerostructures for Northrop-built Hawkeye and Greyhound aircraft.

Northrop will use the kits to build wings for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and the C-2A Greyhound planes under a contract the company holds with the U.S. Navy, CPI said Monday.

Twenty-five E-2D Hawkeyes are due to the Navy by 2021 and the C-2A Greyhound contract is scheduled for completion in 2020.

Bart LaGrone, vice president of E-2/C-2 programs at Northrop, said the company has worked with CPI over the past six years.

“We congratulate them in earning a place on Team Hawkeye alongside Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and L-3 Communications,” LaGrone added.

E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes function as the Navy’s airborne early warning and battle management command and control platform.

The C-2 Greyhound works to transport cargo, aircraft parts, mail and passengers to carrier strike groups.
