RIVA Solutions has won six task orders valued at $9.1 million from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, extending its IT work to five of the agency’s research laboratories.

The awards came this year under the N-Wave/Earth System Research Laboratories Information Technology Support blanket purchase agreement, RIVA said Tuesday. The work covers IT infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity for the systems NOAA scientists use to collect, process and share environmental data across operational and research settings.

Federal civilian agencies continue to modernize the infrastructure behind scientific and operational programs. The Potomac Officers Club will host the 2026 FedCiv Summit on Oct. 29 at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, in Arlington, Virginia, where leaders will discuss AI adoption, cloud and data infrastructure, and cross-agency initiatives. Which NOAA Programs Do the Task Orders Cover?

The task orders support the Chemical Sciences Laboratory, Earth System Research Laboratory, Global Monitoring Laboratory, Global Systems Laboratory and Physical Sciences Laboratory. The laboratories carry out NOAA’s climate, weather and atmospheric research work.

With the recent awards, RIVA also expanded its role on N-Wave, a high-speed network providing wide-area transport, trusted internet connections, managed services and cloud connectivity in more than 100 U.S. locations.

Neelu Modali, president of RIVA, said the task orders let the company support the agency’s mission more broadly.

What Other Commerce Department Work Does RIVA Hold?

NOAA sits within the Department of Commerce, where RIVA has built a portfolio across several bureaus under the Commerce Acquisition for Transformational Technology Services, or CATTS, vehicle, a 10-year contract valued at $1.5 billion.

RIVA received its seventh CATTS task order in September, a five-year, $9.4 million award to run and expand the International Trade Administration’s artificial intelligence center of excellence, in partnership with Platinum Technologies. That work covers developing AI products, data governance and cybersecurity, building on ITA’s existing Microsoft Azure data services, enterprise application programming interfaces and Power BI environment.

In January, the company won a five-year CATTS task order with the Commerce Office of the Secretary for software license management, IT governance and program management. Earlier CATTS awards covered services for ITA and the Office of Cybersecurity and IT Risk Management. RIVA also supports the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
