SAP National Security Services has received provisional authorization from the Defense Information and Systems Agency to deploy SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and SAP Business Technology Platform within their FedRAMP+ Impact Level 5-certified secure cloud environment.
What Are SAP NS2’s Authorized Offerings Used For?
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition is an enterprise resource planning offering while SAP Business Technology Platform is used for the building, integration and automation of business applications and processes, SAP NS2 said Monday.
The offerings are meant for organizations within the Department of War that require ERP and technology platform capabilities that host and manage highly sensitive Controlled Unclassified Information, Mission Critical Information and unclassified National Security Systems.
How Has SAP NS2 Sought to Continue Supporting Customers?
To continue being able to support customers with regulation-compliant cloud-based offerings, SAP NS2 CEO and 2026 Wash100 Award winner Harish Luthra earlier this year named Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification as one of his company’s priorities. In March, the company achieved it.
SAP NS2 received CMMC Level 2 certification, positioning the company to continue supporting contracts involving controlled unclassified information. Level 2 is the middle tier of the DOW’s updated CMMC framework and requires implementation of 110 security controls aligned with National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171 Revision 2. The designation applies to contractors that process, store or transmit federal contract information and CUI during contract performance.
Commenting on the development, SAP NS2 Chief Information Security Officer Penny Klein said, “Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting our nation’s most sensitive information. It validates the robust security controls we already have in place and reinforces our ability to meet the evolving security requirements of the DOW community.”
