Summit 7, a cybersecurity, compliance and managed services company, has successfully assisted 50 organizations in earning their Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, or CMMC, Level 2 compliance, marking a significant advancement for the Defense Industrial Base.
The Huntsville, Alabama-based firm said Friday the companies are now fully credentialed to pursue federal contracts requiring CMMC Level 2 ahead of the Nov. 10 implementation of Title 48 of the Code of Federal Regulations, or 48 CFR, final rule, which will require CMMC compliance for select government contracts. The 50 companies, which have dedicated years pursuing National Institute of Standards and Technology 800-171 and CMMC compliance, account for approximately 14 percent of the 366 CMMC Level 2 certified firms nationwide. With growing demand for CMMC Level 2 security, the company expects to accelerate its next 50 certifications, aiming to finish by the end of 2025.
Remarks From Summit 7 CEO Scott Edwards
“It is fantastic to know that these 50 companies are fully ready, prepared and credentialed to pursue their desired contracts,” said Scott Edwards, CEO of Summit 7. “Most of their competitors are not going to be ready, which is going to dramatically increase their probability of win for contracts over the next 12 to 24 months,” continued the 2025 Wash100 Award winner.
