IBM and Salesforce have teamed up to help government agencies, businesses and schools verify an individual’s health and vaccine status to enable them to safely reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The partnership will facilitate the integration of IBM Digital Health Pass with the Salesforce Work.com platform to provide organizations with a single tool for making data-driven decisions as they work to streamline communications, initiate actions and reduce risks, the companies said in a joint release published Friday.

"Now, as testing becomes more widespread and vaccine distribution gets underway, we are expanding the availability of IBM Digital Health Pass with Salesforce to help organizations verify an individual's vaccine status and any other relevant health credentials,” said Paul Roma, general manager for IBM Watson Health.

IBM Digital Health Pass is built on the company’s blockchain technology and is designed to help organizations verify an individual’s health credential based on temperature checks, vaccination records, test results and other criteria.

Salesforce Work.com is a suite of resources and platforms used by governments and companies for manual contact tracing, shift management, vaccine management and employee wellness. It is built in accordance with the company’s ethical use and privacy guidelines for COVID-19 response to safeguard data of users.

"Our partnership with IBM will give organizations a single platform designed to provide safe and continuous operations, deepen trust with customers and employees and do everything possible to support their health and wellbeing,” said Bill Patterson, executive vice president and GM for CRM applications at Salesforce.
