Cisco has obtained Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification for Webex for Government, an application designed to unify messaging, calling and virtual meetings into one platform.

The FedRAMP authorization allows federal agencies and other public sector customers to use the cloud-based Webex for Government collaboration tool, Abhay Kulkarni, vice president and general manager for Webex Meetings at Cisco, wrote in a blog post published Monday.

The platform can integrate with Microsoft Office, ServiceNow, Box and other applications and users may directly access Webex meetings from digital calendars on mobile devices and computers.

Webex for Government could help information technology administrators manage users, services, devices, protect data, view analytics and configure compliance and security policies through the Cisco Webex Control Hub.
