McAfee has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification for its MVISION for Endpoint security tool suite that certifies it to handle the Department of Defense’s moderate-security data.
McAfee said Monday its MVISION suite secured an Impact Level 2 FedRAMP authorization that validates its compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s security controls for cloud environments.
The designation enables McAffee to offer MVISION to agencies seeking to protect controlled unclassified information such as personally identifiable data and covered defense information in a cloud infrastructure.
Alex Chapin, vice president for DoD and intelligence at McAfee, said that MVISION is designed to support command and control functions for cyber defense operations under on-premises as well as remote cybersecurity teams.
Ashutosh Kulkarni, executive VP and chief product officer for the enterprise business group at McAfee, noted that McAfee’s milestone represents its “long-standing commitment†to providing cloud-based cyber support to the U.S. government.
MVISION includes endpoint detection and response features intended for continuous monitoring and artificial intelligence-based investigations in line with Mitre’s Adversarial Tactics, Techniques and Common Knowledge database.
The offering also includes an ePolicy Orchestrator for security controls and Endpoint Security Adaptive Threat Protection with Real Protect elements.
