Brett Shirk, former senior vice president of the Americas sales organization at Veritas‘ software business, has joined Dell Technologies subsidiary VMware as SVP and general manager for the Americas region.
He will report directly to Maurizio Carli, executive VP of worldwide sales at VMware, and oversee strategic planning, business operations, go-to-market strategy and management of the company’s business in Latin America, U.S. and Canada businesses, VMware said Tuesday.
“Brett’s experience aligns well with key areas of focus for VMware, including enterprise and security software and cloud services,” said Carli.
Shirk also holds more than two decades of executive business planning, sales, process design and customer and partner executive relationship development experience.
He previously held various leadership positions at Veritas, Symantec and BMC Software.
