- SignalBridge passed a competitive evaluation to secure “Awardable” status on the IARPA Solutions Marketplace
- The communications kit works to deliver encrypted voice, data and video using hybrid cellular and satellite connectivity
- The system supports a Department of War customer and a Marine Corps prototype effort
Nightwing‘s SignalBridge, a deployable mobile communications kit, has been designated Awardable on the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity’s Solutions Marketplace, giving intelligence community agencies an expedited path to acquire the system.
The Dulles, Virginia-based national security company said Friday the designation followed a competitive evaluation.
The move comes after Nightwing Chief Technology Officer Chris Jones said in July that advanced technologies deliver little value when weak acquisition practices keep them from reaching operators.
What Is the IARPA Solutions Marketplace?
The online platform helps IARPA and the wider IC sector to locate, evaluate and procure emerging technologies tied to intelligence requirements. It hosts vetted offerings from vendors, researchers and other developers that government buyers can review against specific missions.
What Capabilities Does Nightwing’s SignalBridge Offer?
The integrated hardware and software kit works to transmit encrypted voice, data and video, along with geospatial and networking functions, for teams deployed worldwide. Relying largely on commercial technology, SignalBridge can alternate between cellular and satellite links to maintain backup connectivity in remote and contested settings.
Nightwing tailors each kit to a given mission and supports deployments with engineering, cyber tooling, managed attribution, software development, field support, training and logistics services.
Derived from an active government program of record, the system supports a customer within the Department of War. Nightwing also recently shipped kits for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Expeditionary Warfare Operations Kit prototype.
Authorized government users can view a Nightwing demonstration video on the marketplace showing how the kit provides protected communications and shared situational awareness to forward-deployed teams.
What Did Nightwing’s Troy Smith Say About SignalBridge?
Troy Smith, SignalBridge program director at Nightwing, said intelligence operations often unfold in places lacking dependable networks, where personnel must avoid notice.
“Our kits are assembled by former special operators who have worked in those environments, and the IARPA Solutions Marketplace gives intelligence community customers a faster way to put that capability in the field,” Smith said.
