- The Virginia site brings MyDefence closer to customers in defense, homeland security and law enforcement
- The office is expected to be staffed with 50 employees within a year
- Retired U.S. Army Gen. and past Wash100 Award winner John Murray was present during the opening
MyDefence has opened a new office in Reston, Virginia, which will serve as its North America headquarters. The provider of artificial intelligence-driven counter-drone technologies said Friday on LinkedIn that the facility’s opening is “an important milestone” as it expands operations in the U.S. The company also said in a press release issued Thursday that the Reston facility brings it closer to federal agencies and regional industry partners in the defense, homeland security and law enforcement sectors.
Plans are in place to staff the new office with 50 employees within a year, the Washington Business Journal reported on X.
Who Was In Attendance During the Reston Office Opening?
Among the attendees during the office’s opening was retired U.S. Army Gen. John Murray, a past winner of the Wash100 Award. When Murray was last conferred the honor, he was serving as the leader of the Army Futures Command. He currently sits on the board and serves in an advisory capacity at multiple companies, including Boeing, Virtualitics and Deloitte.
What Other Facilities Has MyDefence Opened This Year?
The Virginia office is the second facility that MyDefence opened this year. In February, the company opened a manufacturing center in Oklahoma City, whose purpose is to produce counter-unmanned aircraft systems.
Commenting on his company’s expanding footprint in the U.S., MyDefence North America CEO William Ostrowski said, “Our Oklahoma City facility put American manufacturing at the center of our production. Reston puts us at the center of the conversations that shape how that technology gets to the warfighter, to law enforcement and to the agencies protecting critical infrastructure.”
