Hughes logo_ExecutiveBizHughes Network Systems’ HughesNet satellite Internet service and National 4-H Council have jointly unveiled a new STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) educational program for American youth.

The partnership is meant to grant sponsorship to two young innovators for a trip to the  4-H National Youth Science Day event in Washington, D.C., under the Innovation Incubator Science Experiences program, Hughes said Thursday.

“We consider our partnership with 4-H to be a tremendous success and we’re excited to be helping to develop the scope of the program into 2015,” said Mike Cook, senior vice president of Hughes North America division.

National 4-H Council and HughesNet have also launched the 4-H GROWN alumni campaign to invite 4-H alumni across the U.S. to a fund-raising initiative. The alumni will be required to visit www.4-H.org/4HGROWN, tag friends and cast votes.

The state with the highest number of votes will receive a $10,000 science sponsorship.
