Geo Owl has introduced U-GAME, a service that delivers unclassified geospatial intelligence products built from commercial and open-source data to government and mission partners.

The company said Tuesday U-GAME serves U.S. government, NATO and Five Eyes mission partners.

What Is U-GAME?

U-GAME is a managed service from Geo Owl that produces finished, unclassified GEOINT for government customers and their mission partners using commercial imagery and open-source data. Instead of selling data or software access, Geo Owl takes a customer’s mission requirement and delivers an agreed intelligence product, with the scope and acceptance terms settled at the start.

The service supports analysis tasks such as maritime activity tracking, damage and flood-risk assessments, change detection and pattern-of-life studies. Geo Owl analysts and data scientists combine their expertise with the company’s artificial intelligence and computer vision tools to produce maps, dashboards, data files and briefings that customers can share across partner organizations.

What Did Geo Owl Officials Say About U-GAME?

Geo Owl CEO Nick Smith said the company is extending the mission support it has provided in the cleared space for 13 years to customers that require unclassified products and data.

“We’re already seeing the impacts of our commercial products with combatant command mission partners, and we expect a new variety of customers to take advantage of our capability to deliver finalized, actionable geospatial and all-source insights,” Smith added.

Kerry Mapes, vice president for geospatial solutions at Geo Owl, noted that U-GAME delivers geospatial data and intelligence rather than access to a portal.

“You buy a scoped outcome, not just data, software access, or a seat,” Mapes explained.

James Moore, chief operating officer of Geo Owl, said the company aims to deliver mission insights rather than sell more data, adding that it chooses the source best suited to each mission and that open-source options often exceed customer expectations.

What Is Geo Owl?

Geo Owl is a Wilmington, North Carolina-based company that offers AI-enabled technology, mission data, GEOINT expertise and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support to national security customers. Founded in 2013, the company works with military, intelligence community and special operations customers on geospatial intelligence production.

The U-GAME launch follows Geo Owl’s acquisition of Quick Services in May, a deal that expanded its intelligence support for U.S. Special Operations Command and the intelligence community.

Geo Owl has also secured several defense intelligence awards. In May 2023, it was one of 13 companies selected for a $900 million National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency contract for core mission operations support. In September 2024, the company joined a five-year, $273 million task order to provide intelligence support to U.S. Central Command.
