Thomas AtkinThomas Atkin is director of Raytheon’s U.S. business development homeland security team.

In this role, Atkin leverages his experiences to support maritime, border, and public safety and security customers through technology, engineering and service solutions that meet their operational mission requirements.

Prior to Raytheon, the executive served in the U.S. Coast Guard for more than 30 years.

He was last assigned as assistant commandant for intelligence and criminal investigations.

Atkin was also appointed by Barack Obama as special assistant to the U.S. president and senior director for transborder security on the White House National Security Staff.

Atkin holds a master’s degree in management science from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
