BoeingLogoBoeing will co-host a rocket launch competition on May 10 at its Huntington Beach, Calif. facility. with support from the Discovery Science Center and the Future Scientists and Engineers of America.

The free event is for young engineers to design, build and launch their own bottle rockets and get the opportunity to meet NASA astronaut Andrew Feustel, the Discovery Science Center announced Tuesday.

Attendees will also be able to consult with real engineers about their rocket designs.

The person who designs the rocket that has the longest hang-time will win the competition.
