The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has posted a request for information to seek potential sources of unmanned ground vehicles with autonomous capabilities for research, test and evaluation purposes.
A SAM notice posted Friday says the Army Engineering Corps envisions a UGV with off-road and weather resistance features and a payload capacity of 44 pounds.
The platform is required to run through a lithium battery for at least three hours and has an inertial measurement unit, an attitude heading reference system, GPS features, long-range communication capabilities and a computing suite with C++ and ROS drivers. The vehicle also needs to have a 0.8-inch real-time kinematic feature and a minimum ground clearance of five inches.
Woman-owned, historically underutilized and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses are eligible to submit their responses to the notice.
Interested vendors have until April 8 to respond to the RFI.
