Rich Miller writes that the plan would increase the company’s total spending in Wyoming to nearly $500 million.

The company plans to start construction of the new infrastructure in late spring 2014 and start operations in summer 2015, according to the report.

Microsoft will also house a research project in Cheyenne to deploy a data center container filled with servers next to a water treatment in the city, Miller reports.

Microsoft aims to power the servers through methane biogas-powered fuel cells, the report said.
