  • He held senior sales roles at Quantum and was most recently chief revenue officer at Openprise
  • His mandate covers enterprise adoption, partner growth and sales expansion across the Americas

Hammerspace has named former Openprise and Quantum executive John McKillop as vice president for sales in the Americas. The company said his appointment adds an industry veteran as it looks to turn rising customer demand into broader enterprise business.

Tony Asaro, Hammerspace’s chief business officer, said the company has grown sharply in 2026. He cited McKillop’s experience expanding sales teams and partner networks as key to sustaining revenue gains.

What Will John McKillop Lead at Hammerspace?

McKillop will direct efforts to widen enterprise use of the company’s platform, deepen its partner ecosystem and build out sales operations across the region. Hammerspace said interest is climbing as customers shift artificial intelligence work into production and seek to reach data on current infrastructure without creating silos or leaving GPU capacity idle. The hire follows the company’s 2023 launch of a U.S. federal division under Robert Renzoni, who is also a former Quantum executive.

What Were McKillop’s Roles at Openprise?

McKillop most recently oversaw sales, solutions engineering, partnerships and revenue operations as Openprise’s chief revenue officer. According to his LinkedIn profile, the company sustained triple-digit annual growth during his tenure. He also helped the firm secure a $25 million Series B financing round.

What Federal Sales Experience Does McKillop Bring From Quantum?

McKillop worked at Quantum for more than 16 years. He advanced from regional sales manager to senior vice president of global sales, and in that post, he managed upward of 300 employees from 2018 to 2022. From 2013 to 2016, he served as vice president of media and entertainment and federal sales. He also previously spent seven years at Advanced Digital Information.
