- Janes’ self-paced OSINT curriculum is now available through FedLearn
- Courses cover geospatial, financial, signals and social media intelligence
- Janes developed the training using its practitioners’ OSINT methodologies
Janes has partnered with FedLearn to provide defense and intelligence organizations with access to a self-paced open-source intelligence, or OSINT, training curriculum.
What Topics Are Included in the Training?
The Janes Tradecraft Self-Paced Training catalog spans foundational instruction and specialized intelligence disciplines, the company said Wednesday. Courses address online security, structured analytical techniques, legislation, governance and ethics, along with open-source imagery and geospatial intelligence.
Other subjects include social media and online human intelligence, open-source signals intelligence and cyber-electromagnetic activities, and open-source financial intelligence. The catalog also offers an OSINT primer and a course on OSINT practices and processes.
Janes developed the curriculum with its practicing OSINT professionals. The material covers methods analysts use to assess open-source information and produce intelligence.
The intelligence community’s OSINT strategy for 2024 to 2026, released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the CIA, lists developing the next-generation OSINT workforce as one of its four focus areas.
How Does FedLearn Deliver the Courses?
FedLearn uses artificial intelligence to tailor learning to individual users and assess their progress and competency. The provider also works to contextualize training for federal government missions, particularly those associated with the Department of War and the Intelligence Community.
The complete Janes course catalog is available through FedLearn.
What Do the Companies Say About the Partnership?
Janes Executive Director of Partnerships Ben Conklin said the collaboration will give OSINT analysts access to Janes’ analytical methods for producing reliable intelligence to inform decisions and support artificial intelligence applications.
FedLearn Founder and CEO Keith Dunbar said combining Janes’ intelligence training with FedLearn’s adaptive learning capabilities can help national security professionals prepare for evolving mission requirements and support workforce readiness.
